Zoomarine teaches children about nature conservation

news: Zoomarine teaches children about nature conservation

THE PRIMARY school in Salir, Loulé, held classes given by Zoomarine staff recently to promote environmental awareness. The objective was to stimulate interest among children in relation to problems affecting the planet.

The lives of animals from our oceans and rivers, and the threats they are subjected to at the hands of man, were the subjects of the activities, which involved various educational games.

According to marine biologist Élio Vicente from Zoomarine, this is the ideal age for children to be taught about these issues: “It is very important to alert children about the importance of nature conservation, while they are still at a very impressionable age.”

The Zoomarine team is now set to visit a dozen schools in the Loulé borough by February next year.
