Beatriz Cintra and Filipe Lopes from the Clube Naval de Portimão (CNP) have been selected to represent Portugal at international events following their performance at the qualifying events in Porto last weekend.
Beatriz is placed number one in Portugal’s female sailing ranking and will be taking part in the 2018 Optimist World Championship which will be held in Cyprus between August 27 and September 6.
The CNP’s trainer for the Optimist team, Frederico Coutinho Rato, will also be travelling to Cyprus as Portugal’s Team Leader.
Meantime, Filipe is number six in the ranking and will be representing Portugal at the 2018 Optimist European Championship in The Netherlands between June 23 and 30.
