Young dancers return to stage as Castro Marim hosts ‘Arte Sem Fronteiras’ dance festival

Saturday saw the return of the ‘Arte Sem Fronteiras’ dance festival to the Revelim de Santo António fort in Castro Marim, bringing together dozens of young dancers from several dance schools across the Algarve.

The festival had been postponed due to the pandemic and returned for its ninth edition to “value the work carried out by these schools with local youngsters, promoting their love for artistic expression by demonstrating the physical and mental benefits of dance,” said Castro Marim council in a press release.

Among the participating schools were Escola de Dança Splash, Companhia de Dança do Algarve, Grupo de Dança Arutla, Conservatório Regional de VRSA, Estúdio-T and Terra Danzas, in what was described as a “unique combination of music, light and movement.”

The event was organised by Escola de Dança Splash and Castro Marim Council and was free to attend.
