The Algarve delegation of ANJE – the national association of young businesspeople – has joined a cross-border consortium designed to help companies in the Algarve, Alentejo and Andalusia obtain private investment.
The consortium is entitled ESPOBAN and is made up of three Spanish entities (CEEI Bahía de Cadiz, Diputácion de Córdoba and Prodetur da Diputácion de Sevilla) and two in Portugal (ANJE and the Centro de Incubação de Empresas de Base Tecnológica Vasco da Gama-Sines Tecnopolo).
It is backed by the European funding programme FEDER and its first official act will be a study determining the main needs of its associates.
Says ANJE boss Hugo Viera: “ESPOBAN is a project with many real benefits for the economic fabric of the regions involved.”
He adds that it will give businesspeople in the three regions involved a chance to network and meet potential investors, which in turn will make the local economy more “dynamic”, create more jobs and increase competitiveness.
