You got it Roy

Award winning American singer and songwriter, Roy Orbison, is to be remembered by new signed and unsigned artists from around the world in celebration of what would have been his 73rd birthday.

More than 30 artists from all over the globe have recorded renditions of their favourite Orbison songs including Oh, Pretty Woman, Crying and Only the Lonely while his son, Alex Orbison, will also be honouring his father playing the drums on some of the tracks.

The winner of Pop Idol in Norway, Tone Damli Aaberge, the son of James Taylor, Ben Taylor and South African band Parlontones have all been involved in the project, as well as more well known artists such as Billy Burnett of Fleetwood Mac.

The concert is not open to the public, however fans will be able to download the songs from iTunes from today, Friday April 24.
