Over the last few years there has been a boom in the practice of Yoga here in Europe due to its physical and mental benefits that can be attained from its regular practice for people of all ages, particularly for the elderly.
Now these techniques are available locally in Lagoa at Just Body Fitness Gym, taught by a leading Yoga exponent Carl Hawker, who has spent the last 15 years studying from the teachings of Swami Satchidananda in the Ashrams of India and teaching here in Portugal and Spain.
Although many people have heard of yoga, nowadays only a few truly understand the subtle benefits of its practice.
“At first when you find yourself drawn toward yoga, for whatever reason, whether it is to improve your physical self or the mental and spiritual self, you will quickly find that there is a lot more to yoga than a few strange postures which keep the body supple and lean,” said Carl.
