Six districts are at risk of heavy rain and thunderstorms between 12:00 and 18:00 today
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has placed six districts – Faro, Santarém, Setúbal, Portalegre, Évora and Beja – under yellow warning today. This is due to the forecast of rain and hail showers, which can be heavy at times, and frequent thunderstorms.
According to the IPMA, the yellow warning for these six districts will be effective between 12:00 and 18:00 today.
The IPMA issues the yellow warning whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
The IPMA forecasts for today a generally very cloudy sky, with showers, sometimes intense, and hail accompanied by thunderstorms in the Center and South regions. There will also be a slight drop in the maximum temperature.
The minimum temperatures will fluctuate between 13 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 19 (in Lisbon and Faro), and the maximum between 24 degrees (in Guarda) and 30 (in Santarém).
