Colossal Panoply, a hotel development company based in Lisbon, has announced the signing of Wyndham Residences Alvor Bay Hotel in Alvor, in collaboration with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
The 149-room hotel features “spectacular sea views”, walking access to the beach and offers guests double and junior suite accommodations.
Property highlights include an on-site restaurant, updated adults and kids pool and an outdoor fitness centre. Rooms are modern contemporary, feature kitchenette facilities, flat screen smart televisions, air conditioning and complimentary internet access throughout the property.
The hotel will be operated by PG Hotels & Resorts, a Portuguese hotel operator run by Mário Azevedo Ferreira, an experienced hotel manager with more than 30 years in the international Hospitality industry. He was CEO of NAU Hotels & Resorts up to October 31, 2022, having “decided to embrace this new challenge” on November 1.
“We are really excited about the relationship established with Wyndham for this hotel,” said Mário A. Ferreira. “Their support has been extremely valuable on creating the concept and the design of all the facilities, and we are very confident on the success of the Wyndham Residences brand, the first of its kind in Portugal, associated to a building located so close to one of the most beautiful beaches in Algarve.”
Christian Michel, Vice President, Development Europe, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA, said: “We look forward to a fruitful partnership with Colossal Panoply and PG Hotels & Resorts, and the continuous growth of our Residences offering across Europe.
“The collaborative signing of Wyndham Residences Alvor Bay with these two companies marks the first for our Residences brand in Portugal, furthering our portfolio in the market and highlighting our commitment to providing even more accommodation offerings to every type of traveller in destinations we know they want to be.”
The Wyndham Residences Alvor Bay will open in July 2023 and is expected to create more than 60 jobs.
The building where the new hotel will be sited had been operating for years under the brand Luna Alvor Bay.
