Wrong gas

A stupid mistake left an escaped convict stranded after he filled the car he had stolen with the wrong type of fuel. The 37-year-old from Rio Maior had attacked a 21-year-old driver and driven off in her car – only to find it needed filling up. He pulled into a fuel station, filled up with diesel instead of petrol, and was then left like a sitting duck as he tried to make off without paying. By chance a passing GNR patrol spotted him trying to leg it, and the man is now cooling his heels back in jail.
