Writer to read in Tavira

A reading will be given at the Lura dos Livros bookshop in Tavira on September 17, by the acclaimed author, Charles ‘C.A.R’ Hills (pictured).

Charles comes from an Anglo-Portuguese background and has spent much of his life writing about his colourful experiences.

He will be reading some of his early essays and recent work such as the Clapham Omnibus and The Prisoner,” which he wrote for Prospect magazine.

In these essays, Charles reflects on his wanderings around London and some of the experiences he encountered throughout his time in prison.

He speaks English, Portuguese, Italian and German fluently, and has written internationally for most of his life.

The reading will begin at 7.30pm and entrance will be free. Refreshments and nibbles will be available.
