World’s tallest man

Sultan Kosen, a 26-year-old from Turkey, has been named by Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest man.

Sultan, who measures 8ft 1inches, also has the largest hands measuring 10.8 inches, and the longest feet at 14.3 inches.

After applying to be considered as the tallest man in Turkey, it was discovered that he measured in at 10cm more than the previous world record holder.

The previous holder of the world title was Bao Xishun, who was first recognised by Guinness in 2005. Sultan was in London on September 16 for the official unveiling and he said he now hoped to find love as he said it has been difficult to find a girlfriend.

A spokesman for Guinness World Records said Mr Kosen is the first person in more than a decade to be more than 8ft in height.
