The International Autodrome of the Algarve (AIA) will be hosting the first edition of the world’s longest race – and it promises to be one of the hardest.
Until now, the Maxi Endurance race has involved a full 24 hours behind the wheel – but 2014’s new rules have extended the time by another eight hours. Thus when drivers take to the asphalt at the autodrome, they will have a 32-hour race ahead of them.
Due to take place between December 12 and 14, Maxi Endurance is now accepting enrolments.
The Spanish company said it has chosen the Algarve as its venue this year due to the “highest praise” that the track has received from top-class drivers and promoters alike.
