Faro is once again the must-go destination for bikers, descending in force next week for the annual summer festival.
For the 36th year, thousands of bikers from all over Europe and the rest of the world are on their way for the famous rally, held every year at Vale das Almas near the airport.
The event, starting on Thursday (July 20) and running till the following Sunday, is a non-stop, four-day party offering shows and contests, a 24-hour bar, and live concerts every night, as well as a huge parade.
American rock band Ugly Kid Joe is the musical headliner this year, performing on Saturday night (July 22) after Spain’s Vendetta and Portugal’s The Gift.
The Algarve’s British-born singer-songwriter Daniel Kemish will take to the stage on Thursday, as well as outlaw blues band Fast Eddie Nelson, while on Friday the line-up includes Spanish band Travellin’ Brothers, Portuguese singer Rita Guerra and rock band UHF.
A four-day ticket costs €45 and gives visitors a chance to win a “new motorbike and a weekend in Daytona, USA”.
It also comes with a goodie bag with a T-shirt, a rally badge, sticker and coupons for free meals, as well as free bus trips to and from Faro city centre.
Separate tickets are also being sold for Saturday and Sunday only, costing €30.
