THE ALGARVE was represented at the 68th SKÅL world tourism congress in Turkey this year by Jack Soifer from Albufeira.
He gave a speech about sustainable tourism as one of three judges for the International Ecotourism Prize.
His book, Undertaking Natural Tourism, is currently being translated into English and adapted for the EU.
Hundreds of individuals from the tourism sector met and negotiated during the congress, which will guarantee more tourism in Asia, Hungary, Croatia and Turkey in 2008.
