Seven out of the 12 Brazilian stadiums hosting World Cup matches this summer had their grass football fields laid down by Portuguese grass producer Vasverde.
Led by grass management specialist Ana Cabral, the company was responsible for growing and laying grass pitches in the stadiums of Rio de Janeiro – where the World Cup final will be played, Recife, Salvador, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Brasília and Manaus.
Cabral said: “Proof of a job well-done will be if the pitches aren’t mentioned in news reports.”
