The Algarve region and Braga, in northern Portugal are options for World Cup Football matches to be played according to the President of the national football federation.
Gilberto Madail said on Tuesday that the stadia were being considered as part of Iberia’s candidacy to the 2018 or 2022 football World Cup.
“There would be every advantage to include the Algarve, but we have to see what is necessary to increase its capacity from 29,000 to 42,000 spectators, to see if it is worth it,” he said.
