Work starts on off-road track

Work on an off-road track has started at the Algarve Motor Park.

The Off Road Park has been planned since the motor park opened and will now be built on an area of 317,000 square metres with a track length of about five kilometres.

“The aim of this project is to create tracks for all variants of motorsports and it will be used for testing off-road vehicles and rally competitions. It will also include a bike track for Enduro racing,” said a spokesman for the track.

Work should be completed by the end of this month.

Paulo Pinheiro, CEO of Parkalgar, told the Algarve Resident: “This is another important step in the development of the Algarve Motor Park and it is with great pleasure that I see this racing facility getting into its final form.

“The construction of this track will allow us to expand and reach all motorsports categories. It’s an important step for our business but also a privileged tool for brands, teams and drivers.”
