A business breakfast organised by the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce (BPCC) will see lawyer Cláudia Vaz Póvoa present a talk entitled ‘Work and new technologies – friends or enemies?’ on Wednesday, 29 May, at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa, from 8.15am.
“The new technologies offer nowadays a wide range of opportunities and several flexible working solutions both to companies and their employees. However, the more flexible the work environment becomes, the more complex the employment relation grows, not only due to the increasing lack of control over the job by the employer, but also due to several privacy issues that may arise in the use of information,” said the BPCC.
“In this session we aim to balance the advantages and disadvantages of the use of new technologies at work, and also provide some solutions already established legally.”
The session will allow our members ample time to discuss these and other questions they might have, but also to share their experiences and learn from each other. As usual there will also be ample time during and after the session for members to network.
Cláudia Vaz Póvoa is a Lawyer and Partner at Edge Sociedade de Advogados, specialised in Employment Law.
At Edge, she leads the Employment and Social Security Department being responsible for the recruitment of staff and also managing the human resources of the firm.
These breakfast meetings present a great opportunity to do some networking as well. Places are limited, and thus BPCC urges you to make your reservation promptly.
Cost is €13.50 for Chamber Members and Hilton’s Club H20 Members and €18.50 for non-Members.
This cost is for the breakfast only and will be paid on the day directly to Hilton Vilamoura.
Confirm by e-mail to [email protected] no later than Monday, May 27, if you would like to attend this event.
