Two IS brides stripped of their British citizenship were married to Portuguese ‘jihadists’ who are now dead.
Celso Rodrigues da Costa and Sadjo Turé grew up in Portugal but were radicalised in the UK.
They are both believed to have been part of a terror cell ‘with close links to the filmed murders of western hostages by Jihadi John’ (Sunday Times).
The former was one of a number of Portuguese fighters under investigation by British secret services as early as 2014 (click here).
He and two of his brothers were ‘recruited’ after moving from their home area of Sintra to East London.
Sadjo Turé, originally from Guinea Bissau, is also understood to have lived in the Sintra area.
Both men died in fighting, says the Sunday Times – not specifying exactly when.
Their wives however managed to escape and are now being held in a ‘squalid’ detention camp in Syrian with their five boys under the ages of eight.
Sisters Reema and Zara Iqbal left their homes in East London to marry as long ago as 2013.
