Women in Portugal still earn less than men…

Women in Portugal continue to receive lower salaries than men, with the difference as much as 16% in the last quarter of 2021, and larger in the case of casual workers or those with more qualifications. According to a study by CGTP, Portugal’s largest trade union federation, despite female employment growing by 2.3% to a total of 2.38 million in 2021 and women having more qualifications than men, they still earn less. Not a good soundbite as the world approaches yet another ‘International Women’s Day’ (March 8)
