French artist Tatiana Bongonga will be walking a tightrope 30 metres above the ground in Aljezur as part of a show called ‘Traversée’.
The dizzying spectacle will take place on Sunday, April 21 at a valley near Praia do Amado and will also feature musical entertainment.
“It is an unprecedented show in the Algarve,” Giacomo Scalisi, artistic director of Lavrar o Mar, organiser of the event, told Lusa news agency.
He explained that the show will be the pinnacle of the artist’s two-week stay in Monchique and Aljezur.
It will begin at 4.30pm and last around 90 minutes. Tickets cost €5 and admission is free for children aged six or younger.
Lavrar o Mar promotes cultural events in the municipalities of Monchique and Aljezur and is part of the larger 365 Algarve programme.
