A young woman has been airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after being shot in the head near the Martingança-Gare station in the borough of Alcobaça, Leiria. PJ police are treating the incident as attempted murder, but are still conducting forensic exams to “establish how the crime occurred”. The shooting appears to have happened late Sunday night. UPDATE TUESDAY: The young woman, identified as 18-year-old Soraia Andreia de Sousa has died of her injuries. This is now a murder investigation.
