A 79-year-old woman is in a serious condition in hospital and minus one foot after she lost control of the scooter she was driving, hit a parked car and then collided with a refuse truck. According to reports, the truck side-swiped Gracinda Silva of Mosteiro, Vila do Conde, so violently that she “lost her foot instantly”. The elderly lady also suffered various fractures and abdominal injuries.
