A woman was killed and two men were injured in a head-on crash between two cars on the Arade Bridge (EN125) between Portimão and Lagoa this Monday morning (July 5).
The victim was a 73-year-old Austrian woman who was travelling alone in one of the vehicles, while the two men were travelling together in another car. Both men sustained minor injuries and were taken to Portimão Hospital.
The accident happened at around 11.50am, according to Faro’s rescue operations command (CDOS).
The cause of the crash is under investigation, a source from the GNR police told Lusa news agency.
Traffic was cut off on the bridge for several hours.
