Doctors syndicates have reacted with a degree of cynicism to comments made by Fernando Araújo, CEO of the State health service’s ‘executive direction, who warns that November could be dramatic if a pay deal isn’t agreed. As they have told Lusa, this is what doctors themselves have been warning for the last two years. For now, the doctors’ stand remains as it is. Syndicates are “fully available to reach an agreement” as long as their calls for decent salary increases are met, even if measures have to be phased in gradually. The next meeting between the ministry of health and doctors is on Friday.
