Winter wonderland in the West

Santa’s Grotto has been created by the association of residents and friends of Vale de Telha at their headquarters, just outside of Aljezur.

Bob Packham and David Ogborn of Amovate transformed an old school house into a fairyland Grotto that includes Santas, elves, snowmen and Christmas trees.

Some 100 adults and children gathered at the Grotto on December 17 to see Santa’s sleigh pulled by Rudolph.

The sleigh entered the building via a pine scented tunnel, into Santa’s Grotto and finally a decorated main hall where Santa greeted children.

The proceeds of the evening, including a raffle, will go towards the Amovate’s Charity Fund, which over the past two years has donated nine wheelchairs to Portimão Hospital and a ripple bed for the Madrugada charity.
