Winter Season

As players met to recount their Christmas and New Year experiences, a quick glance at the notice board was sufficient to remind them that it was time to polish up their woods and start on the second leg of the 2012/13 Winter Season.

Last Saturday, League leaders CPO Cats wasted no time in confirming their position by hosting bottom of the table Gladiators and chalking up a 72–30 shots victory and taking all 8 points.

Second place Foresters visited third place Greens and, whilst they lost the match 50 shots to 54, the points were shared at 4 each.

At the same green, Scorpions and Amigos went head to head and a thrilling finish meant that the first leg result was reversed. Scorpions winning this time 52 shots to 50 and 6 points to 2.

Last, but certainly not least, Rangers entertained the Terriers and they too reversed the earlier result, winning 57 to 46 and taking 6 points to 2.

And so to the Table. The Cats increased their lead with 61 points, Foresters are second with 44 and Greens third with 41. Amigos are still fourth with 37 and Terriers fifth with 36.As Tigers rested, Scorpions and Rangers both overtook them with 29 and 28 points respectively. Tigers drop to eighth with 27 whilst the Gladiators bring up the rear with only 17.

Next week – who knows?
