A wine tour that includes guided visits to three wineries in Lagoa and Silves, tastings of local wines, lunch and a day’s worth of fun will be held on Saturday, November 16.
Entitled ‘Algarve Wines, Vines and Food’, the event is organised by Algarve Views, a company that specialises in wine tours and “other amazing experiences”, and is open to everyone.
The day will begin with a morning visit to the Quinta dos Vales wine estate in Estômbar, where guests will be able to explore the estate and taste some of the renowned wines that are made there.
Up next will be a visit to Paxá Wines in Silves to not only taste the wines but also enjoy a delicious lunch.
The final stop on the tour will be Quinta dos Santos, located between Ferragudo and Carvoeiro, famous not only for its wines but also for its craft beer.
There will be two guest speakers: Aníbal Neto, coordinator of the Algarve Wine Route and the producer of the Marchalégua wines; and Cláudio Martins, founder and CEO of Martins Wine Advisor, named Best Wine Consultancy Service in the UK in 2019.
“There is no better way to spend the day than wine tasting in local Algarve vineyards,” organisers say.
“Stroll through the different winemaking processes, familiarise yourself with indigenous grape varieties and learn the various methods and techniques. Become an expert in choosing wines for family and friends.”
There will be two meetings points: at the Albufeira marina at 9.30am and at the Lagoa bus station at 10am.
Price is €75 per person while children aged 10 to 14 can tag along for €30. This includes transportation to and from the meeting points, bottled water, tour insurance, a local guide, a children’s entertainer, entry to all three wineries and wine tastings and lunch.
