Wine tasting benefits Food Bank

Over 70 wine lovers packed the cellar of Restaurant Veneza near Paderne to enjoy the wines of Herdade do Mouchão, located near Évora. The wine tasting and dinner was organised by the Rotarians’ Wine Appreciation Fellowship, who aimed to raise funds for the Algarve Food Bank.

Each wine was presented by Mouchão director David Ferreira Marques and then paired with appropriate food.

A total of €1,675 was raised to benefit the “Banco Alimentar” (Food Bank) and will be used to purchase equipment needed in the Portimão satellite warehouse.

With the May food collection drive fast approaching, the Food Bank needs additional equipment to handle the increase in stock.

These wine tasting events are held twice each year, with the next scheduled for the autumn.
