I found this wine at one of the Garrafeira Soares shops, currently on special offer whilst stocks last, at €7.83 down from €9.79. But even at the full price, this is a lot of wine for the money.
Made by Quinta das Arcas up in the extreme north Minho region, this is a complex wine made from the Alvarinho grape that compares very favourably with other Alvarinho varietals priced at well over €10.
Pale golden colour in the glass, there is intense tropical fruit on the nose, good structure and a slightly creamy texture in the mouth from ageing on the lees, balanced with great freshness and solid acidity. A perfect partner for a nice grilled fish.
