The Top 10 Portuguese wines were chosen recently by a jury of international wine specialists during a gala dinner in Porto.
According to organisers Wine – A Essência do Vinho magazine, this year’s Top 10 includes the best Port, the best white wine and the eight best red wines.

The remaining seven reds included: Monte da Ravasqueira Vinha das Romãs 2011 by Sociedade Agrícola D. Diniz, SA (Alentejo); Quinta de São José Grande Reserva 2011, by João Brito e Cunha (Douro); Quinta da Touriga Chã 2011 by Jorge Rosas (Douro); Estremus 2011 by J.Portugal Ramos (Alentejo); CV – Curriculum Vitae 2011 by Lemos & Van Zeller (Douro); Marias da Malhadinha 2010 by Herdade da Malhadinha Nova (Alentejo) and Procura 2011 by Susana Esteban (Alentejo).
Voting took place in February 28 at Salão Árabe, in Palácio da Bolsa, with a jury of 18, including wine critics, sommeliers, and journalists from seven countries, who tasted the wines and then announced their results later that day during a dinner at VINUM restaurant in Gaia.
