The Algarve Wine Society held its annual general meeting, followed by a reception and black tie gala dinner dance, at the Vila Vita Park in Porches on Saturday, February 20.
Around 100 members of the society attended the AGM, which was conducted by the acting president Michael Savage and featured reports from several members of the management committee.
Following the meeting, members and guests enjoyed a five course gala dinner followed by music by Dutch singer Ilze van Zanten.
The Algarve Wine Society has a full programme of events for the coming months, including an Italian evening in March, a gourmet dinner in April, a five day trip to Galicia and a tasting of Bairrada sparkling wines in May, and the traditional summer party in late June.
