Wine lovers are invited to visit the fourth Portuguese Wine Show organised by the Confraria do Bacchus on April 14, 15 and 16 at EMA, Espaços Multiusos de Albufeira.
Orlando Valério, member of Confraria do Bacchus and one of the organisers of the event, told the Algarve Resident: “The event is an opportunity for visitors to learn about the wine production in Portugal.”
Many foreign residents have attended previous events and the organiser hoped more would make this year’s event a date for their diary as there will be 37 wine producers from all over Portugal participating in the show and offering tastings of their wines.
Confraria do Bacchus was created in 2007 in Albufeira by a group of friends who shared a love of wine.
The group holds a monthly members’ meeting, a dinner on the first Friday of each month, participates in events of other similar groups, visits wineries in Portugal and takes part in seminars and lectures related to the subject of wine.
“We started off with 20 members and now have 58, including nine women which is an unusually high number for these type of organisations. There are currently no foreign members, but hopefully this will change soon,” said Orlando Valério.
The Portuguese Wine Show is open daily from 2.30pm to 8pm.
