Alvor’s riverside area will be hosting the third Portimão Wine Festival, which is due to start today (Friday) until Sunday.
Visitors to the fair will be able to sample white, red, rosé and sparkling wines as well as traditional soups, as part of the region’s first soup tasting event that is being held at the same time.
Soups on offer will include chicken broth, meat and fish soups and gazpacho.
Living human statues will also be exhibited within the festival area to entertain visitors.
The event will be open daily from 8pm until midnight. Although entrance to the festival is free, a wine glass for tastings can be purchased for three euros, while soup tasting costs five euros.
