Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) will host “an exceptional day of golf for charity” on Thursday, August 30 at the Monte Rei Golf Course and Country Club.
The annual Estoi Palace Charity Golf Tournament has been selling out incredibly quickly, and the Algarve Resident, in association with RCEPI, has a pair of tickets to offer one lucky reader.
The price for the tournament is €175 for each golfer and includes a continental breakfast, 18 holes of golf, golf cart, soft drinks and water on the course, lunch at the Vistas Restaurant and Terrace including awards ceremony and prizes.
Peter Zahner, the tournament chairman, said: “Participating is an easy way to contribute to charity and it represents a fabulous package deal as golf alone is only a few euros more than the entry price.”
This year’s sponsors include the Algarve Resident, Blacktower Financial Group, Clubhouse Algarve Magazine, Conrad Algarve, Porsche and The Works Printshop.
Monte Rei Golf and Country Club is the only Jack Nicklaus course in Portugal, recently listed as one of the top courses in Europe. “You won’t want to miss this opportunity to golf for charity packed into a fun-filled day,” say organisers.
The funds raised by RCEPI help charities in the Algarve as well as international projects. The club has already supported local causes in many ways, such as help a school purchase a new oven for their culinary programme; fund a mobile breast screening unit; assist in purchasing a van for the Faro Food Bank; pay for a local milk programme; sponsor disabled community members; donate wheelchairs; send children to summer camp and fund the purchase of defibrillators for the bombeiros.
