ARE YOU bored with your clothes, sick of having bad hair days or perhaps given up wearing make-up? Are you guilty of neglecting yourself or maybe you’ve noticed that a friend or family member could do with an image boost? Or have you got a special occasion coming up? Well, The Resident could just have the answer…

Forget Trinny and Susannah, Lisa and Mica, The Resident has brought together its own team of fashion and beauty specialists to give one lucky reader a brand new look for spring.

No expense is being spared – the makeover to be won is worth over 600 euros and includes a facial, an outfit of quality clothes to keep, a new hairstyle and a make-up application by a professional make up artist!

Read on to find out more and for details on how to apply.

The makeover

Younger looking skin

First on the makeover agenda is a trip to BB’s Massage & Beauty salon at Carvoeiro Tennis Club, for a Diamond Collagen Facial by beauty consultant and therapist, Becky Goulding. This superior facial enhances hydration levels within the skin, offering the benefit of a 95 per cent re-hydration level after just one treatment. Lines/wrinkles will be less defined leaving a younger, refreshed skin. A true anti-ageing experience, personalised to individual skin types.

Working on the wardrobe

Next stop will be the Gardeur Direct fashion boutique in Luz where the lucky reader will meet professional fashion stylist Paul Felix. There, Paul will be selecting the best pieces from the German fashion house’s spring collection to give our makeover subject a wonderful new look worth around 400 euros.

Paul is a graduate of St Martin’s School of Art in London, UK, where he completed a BA Hons Fashion Design course specialising in women’s wear. In the UK, he has worked as a concept designer for Jigsaw as well as for a knitwear company that designed for Caroline Charles, Joseph and John Richmond.

The Gardeur Direct store continually carries over 2,000 garments from the Gardeur femme range of fashion separates, with sizes from 34 to 50. Gardeur has established a reputation for comfort, excellent quality and perfect fit, with modern styling and choice of clothes appealing to the discerning customer. Complementing the Gardeur range of leisure clothing, the store carries a large stock of fashion handbags, pashminas, scarves, jewellery, belts and genuine Panama hats.

Hair design

Once the clothes have been selected, Isabel and her team at the Victor Picardo salon in Luz, just a few yards away from Gardeur, will be working their magic and creating a great new hairstyle to give our reader a real image boost. Our reader will be in very experienced hands … Victor Picardo Hairdressing is the largest and best known hair salon chain south of the Tejo and currently has eight salons located across the Algarve.

Make-up

To complete the look, Becky Goulding will be choosing the best, natural look cosmetics to bring out our reader’s best features and put the finishing touches to their glamorous new image! Voila!

Photo shoot

We are certain that our reader will be delighted with the results and we know everyone else will be keen to see their new look, so to complete the day, The Resident is arranging a professional photographer to provide a photo shoot, with the best photos appearing in the following week’s edition of The Resident.
