Wildfire risks move up further notches “for next few days”

ANEPC, the national emergency and civil protection authority has warned that the next few days, with high winds and hot, dry weather, will increase the risk of wildfires in rural areas, particularly those in the interior north and centre, Lisbon Vale do Tejo coastal areas, and Alentejo and Algarve. The message is that wildfires won’t just be more likely with rising temperatures and wind, their combat will be “increasingly difficult”. Everyone needs to play their part in keeping the countryside ‘safe’.
