Luísa Araújo, the wife of education minister Nuno Crato, has been nominated by the Ministry of Education to join the Council of Social and Human Sciences at the Fundação Para a Ciência e Tecnologia. The minister, however, denies any involvement in the decision. The ministry revealed that the choice determining the minister’s wife and all other members of council was, in fact, the responsibility of the Secretary of State for Science Leonor Parreira.
