Widow of Ukrainian job-seeker appeals sentences handed to husband’s killers

The widow of Ukrainian Ihor Homeniuk – the man who died following a savage beating by border guards at Lisbon airport – is appealing the sentences’ handed to her husband’s killers yesterday (click here). José Gaspar Schwalbach, the lawyer of Oksana Homeniuk said his client had been disappointed by the jail terms. “For the first time in history, three SEF inspectors are condemned for killing a man, and their sentences are for seven and nine years? It’s little”, he told reporters. The three former SEF inspectors are also appealing against the jail terms – believing justice has not served them.
