Free access to the internet will be available to all throughout the Algarve within two weeks. A total of 100 Wi-Fi points will be spread across the 16 municipalities in the region.
This project, called Olá, aqui há free Wi-Fi (Hello, there is free Wi-Fi here) was launched on June 15 at the Faro headquarters of the CCDR Algarve.
Paulo Bernardo, General Director of the regional development agency Globalgarve, the company involved in the project, said: “The Algarve will be the first region in the country with free Wi-Fi service.” Exact locations are still to be determined.
