Whitney Houston’s ‘voice cracks’ at comeback show

After hundreds of fans queued overnight to see singing legend Whitney Houston back on stage, many were shocked at the hoarse voice they were greeted with.

The formerly troubled singer took to the stage at a special free concert on September 1 in Central Park, New York, for her much anticipated comeback show but the 5,000 strong crowd were shocked to find Whitney struggling to hit the high notes.

The singer even resorted to letting the crowd sing the chorus of her many hits and admitted her voice was not up to scratch.

The star blamed her lack of voice from speaking too much at a recording of TV chat show Oprah.

Whitney was also joined on stage by her 16-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina while her mother Cissy was watching from the sidelines.
