Guests at the 14th annual Summer Gala at the Pine Cliffs Resort on August 1 were wowed by American singer Michael Bolton as he demonstrated his broad musical repertoire during a live performance.

Classic Michael Bolton hits were intertwined with new releases and performances of “vintage songs written to outlive those who wrote them” including an entire Frank Sinatra section complete with New York, New York and That’s Life.

A highlight of the evening was Michael Bolton’s emotional rendition of Nessun Dorma, dedicated to the memory of Luciano Pavarotti, which resulted in a standing ovation by the crowd, while his rendition of When a Man Loves a Woman, sung from within the crowd, led to women in the audience rushing up and throwing flowers at the singer, known for his romantic ballads.

By the end of the show, many of the guests were at the stage dancing to some of Michael Bolton’s hits from the 80s and 90s, while the evening finished with an impressive fireworks display from the golf course followed by an after show party.
