IRISH eyes certainly were smiling when the St. Patrick’s Society of the Algarve held its annual St. Patrick’s Celebration at the Vila Petra Hotel in Albufeira.
Over 180 members and guests dined and danced to music provided by Marc Damon of Kiss fm, Duncan Kinnell and guest performers, Dave Connors and Jan-Taken de Vries, with their modern take on traditional Irish music.
An outstanding total of 1,200 euros was raised for Castelo de Sonhos, the Silves-based charity which is currently in desperate need of funds to support its valuable work for poor families and children throughout the Algarve.
Among the special guests were Gearóid Macnamara, First Secretary to the Irish Embassy, and Dra. Liliana Rodrigues, President of Castelo de Sonhos. Sponsors for the night included Kiss fm, Southwest Charters of Lagos and Rio Arade Accommodation in Mexilhoeira de Carregação.
