Welcome to the Algarve, Sir!

British Prime Minister David Cameron, on holiday in the Algarve, received a welcome gift of regional products from the Algarve Tourism Board.

The politician and his family will be able to delight in locally produced jams, Flor de Sal salt, wines and other products.

Desidério Silva, president of the Algarve Tourism Board, said Cameron’s choice of the Algarve as a holiday destination is easily justified by the region’s “excellent level of security and privacy” and as a welcome gift sent a variety of local products, such as carob and sweet potato jams with cinnamon from the Algarve Barrocal, hand-harvested salt, red and rosé wines from Lagoa, olive oil, piri-piri and sardine paste.
