The relentlessly hot weather that has marked this August will continue this weekend, with temperatures set to rise above the 30ºC mark in almost all areas of Portugal.
Maximums are expected to reach 38º in the Alentejo, 37º in Lisbon and 33º in the Algarve.
The outlook for Porto is a cooler 26º and there is even the chance of rain, says the IPMA institute, which may ease the picture up there for battling firefighters.
Elsewhere, the rest of the country remains at “very high” risk of fire.
