The first weekend of August is going to bring some of the hottest weather this year to Portugal, with temperatures as high 43ºC and the sun shining bright.
Starting tomorrow (August 6), the weather will be hottest in the Alentejo (41ºC), with the Algarve also expecting some scorching heat (35ºC). Elsewhere, maximums are set to reach 36ºC in Lisbon and 33ºC in Porto. This means all mainland Portugal as well as Madeira will be under “yellow alert” due to the heat.
It will only get hotter on Sunday (August 7), with Santarém set to record the highest temperature (43ºC).
