Temperatures are expected to increase as the weekend progresses across the Algarve, with the highest temperatures and best weather expected on Sunday and a mixture of sunshine with intermittent cloud cover is predicted.
Daytime temperatures in the west, around Sagres, will be warm with highs of 15°C on Saturday and rising to 17°C on Sunday with evening temperatures dropping to 13°C on Saturday and Sunday night.
To the east the weather will be marginally warmer, reaching highs of 18°C on Saturday and feeling pleasantly warm on Sunday with temperatures reaching 20°C. It will feel cool in the evenings with lows of 9°C on Saturday night and 10°C on Sunday evening.
A moderate wind from the west is expected to blow across the region on Saturday before becoming a light northerly on Sunday afternoon.
Ocean temperatures are expected to remain at 15°C on Saturday across the Algarve with waves up to two metres in height expected in the west of the region while in the east waves are to be less than a metre.
As the temperatures rise so too will the risk of sun burn, on Saturday the UV (Ultra Violet) factor will be nominal at level 4, however by Sunday the level will rise to 6 and care needs to be taken between 11am and 3pm across the region.
Looking to the week ahead, the cloud cover that kept temperatures lower during the weekend will disperse, leaving clear blue skies expected for the entire week with temperatures peaking at 22°C by Thursday.
