Although many parts of Portugal are still enjoying a glorious sunny day today, rain is set to return for the weekend. Minimum temperatures are also likely to plunge between 4ºC and 6ºC while snow is expected to fall in mainland Portugal’s highest mountain range Serra da Estrela.
The weather will start to worsen today, with rain already falling in some parts of the north, according to Portugal’s sea and atmosphere institute IPMA. The tendency will be for grey clouds to make their way south by Sunday.
Maximum temperatures of 20ºC and 18ºC are expected for the Algarve and Lisbon and Porto respectively.
Minimums will range between 8ºC and 13ºC except in some northeastern areas such as Guarda, Viseu, Vila Real and Bragança where they could fall to as low as 1ºC.
