Another weekend of rain and cold weather is expected throughout Portugal after a week where the sun shined.
Rain will start to fall in the north of Portugal on Saturday before gradually making its way down to the south by Sunday, say forecasts.
The Algarve could be spared the worst till then, with maximum temperatures of 21ºC expected tomorrow. Minimums will drop to 9ºC by the end of the weekend however, says sea and atmosphere institute IPMA.
Temperatures will also drop to as low as 1ºC to 2ºC in Guarda and Bragança and 9ºC to 10ºC in Lisbon and Porto, with snow remaining “a possibility in high altitude areas” (above 800m/1000m).
The weather will also carry risks for people with allergies as the pollen counts in the Algarve and the Alentejo are expected to be “very high” for the next week, SPAIC (the Portuguese Society of Allergies and Clinical Immunology) warns.
