It’s been a cold and rainy spring in Portugal and the unusually gloomy weather is set to continue “until Tuesday”, say meteorologists from the national sea and atmosphere institute (IPMA).
“Cloudy skies and periods of rain, especially in the north and centre of the country, will continue until Tuesday,” Paula Leitão told Diário de Notícias.
By then the weather is expected to clear up and the sun is expected to shine, with the wind also blowing from the north as opposed to the west.
Proving just how unusual this weather has been, Lisbon has stood out as one of the European capitals with the lowest temperatures recently, with maximums of 17ºC, below Paris (26ºC), Rome (30ºC), Berlin (27ºC) and even London (24ºC).
